Buda walking tour (4hrs)

“- I want to go to the Castle! – No, Darling. I would like to go to the Castle!” But what is the Castle? Is there any? Where is Buda, then?

Hungary ended being a monarchy in 1946. For almost a thousand years it had been led by kings, emperors, governors all leaving us a fascinating story.

The plateau on the Buda hill houses the former Royal Palace and the town of Buda (today 1st district of Budapest) offering two, quite different atmosphere. The palace houses museums and the National Archive meanwhile the city still houses apartments, hotels as well as religious remnants.

This picturesque area is a place not to miss, a both historically and architecturally rich quite touristy place with hidden gems to discover. Caves, churches, synagogues, beautiful gardens.
